When moving to a new city, it can be challenging to quickly find your community. My wife and I moved to Norwalk 18 months ago, knowing almost no one in Connecticut. Being a longtime community organizer, I immediately set out to find every connection possible—from local spaces to community groups—so I could map out what was happening in our new home.

That search led to an idea I had been nurturing for years: the New in Town Meetup. This guide is meant to help you start a similar initiative, building a space where new residents can connect, share, and become part of the community.
